David Smith, EVP of Marubeni Middle East and Africa Power Limited, is responsible for the development and asset management of e fuel and decarbonization projects in the Middle East and Africa region. By leading the development of green hydrogen and its derivative production projects in this region Marubeni aims to supply clean energy from the region to the international market contributing to the decarbonization of heavy industry while stimulating the growth of regional economies.

During his career he has developed and brought into operation over 6,500 MW across all fuels and technologies in the US, Asia Pacific and the Middle East while working for Marubeni, Saudi Aramco and Occidental Petroleum.

David holds a Masters degree in Nuclear Energy from the University of Arizona.
