Noriyuki Ueda is the Chief Executive Officer of JERA Middle East and Africa, based in Dubai, where he leads the company’s strategic initiatives across the region.

Having spent more than three decades in the global energy industry, Mr. Ueda has extensive experience in the development of independent power projects, mergers and acquisitions, and decarbonization initiatives. He has held key roles in power generation projects and business development across countries including Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and the Middle East.

In recent years, Mr. Ueda’s focus has expanded to include net-zero technologies, such as carbon capture and low-carbon fuel, in line with JERA’s net-zero commitment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Japan’s Yokohama National University.
