
Rolf is a Business Development Manager at Sumitomo Corporation, driving project development and strategic investments in Tech-based Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage (CCUS) projects across the United States, Canada, and the Middle East.
Since joining Sumitomo in 2011, Rolf has contributed to a broad range of social infrastructure and clean energy projects, including telecommunication, data center, water treatment, airport concession, renewable energy, and clean fuels. Leveraging his global experience and passion for innovation, Rolf has led regional CDR initiatives during his tenure in Dubai (2019-2024), including the investment in 44.01 - an Oman-based pioneer in in-situ carbon mineralization, as the Sumitomo’s first CDR-related investment. Currently, he is dedicated to shaping the global CDR ecosystem through project development, strategic partnerships, and market-building efforts, delivering impactful solutions for a sustainable future.
