Mr. Ashok Kumar Dembla has 44 years of rich experience in Cement Industry ranging from responsibility for CEO, Profit and Loss account, Company Operations, Strategy and Advisory support to Parent companies, doing project business in Cement Industry like Humboldt Wedag India, Beumer India Ltd, Jaypee Cement, Gebr Pfeiffer India, Cimmco Birla limited.

Out of 44 Years of experience, he has been performing CEO responsibility of Humboldt Wedag India for about 17 years and looking after markets of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, East Africa and recently Indonesia and Myanmar. He has been also CEO of Beumer India for about 4 years, Mr. Dembla has successfully handed over many projects to clients like Ultratech, Dalmia, Holcim, Shree, JSW, My Home including 10,000 tpd cement projects in India and overseas.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh as well as a Diploma in Management from the All-India Management Association. He has also undergone training under the UNDP program in the Cement Industry as well as short term Management Training program from IIM Kolkata. His knowledge, experience and insights on various aspects of Cement Technology, Operating Norms, and developmental areas both of Grinding and Pyro-technology has been published in the form of more than 50 technical papers on national and international platforms. He is also a key member of various seminars and conferences discussing the current trends & developments with the key stakeholders of industry.

With over two decades of comprehensive maritime research and advisory experience at Drewry, Navin heads the Maritime Research practice for bulk, tankers and gas shipping as Head of Research at Drewry. As a distinguished leader, he has steered the course of the industry with expertise spanning traffic forecasts, commercial and technical due diligence, freight strategies, and asset valuations. Navin spearheads the digital transformation journey in his current leadership role at Drewry, leveraging insights from the AIS space to predict lead variables in shipping markets. Navin has an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.

Hoa Lam is the Sr. Trading Manager for EP Power Minerals Asia overlooking the trading business in the APAC region. Hoa has been in the cement industry for more than 20 years with roles covering both technical and commercial, and has worked in Canada, US, Switzerland, and Singapore. Hoa holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Civil Engineer from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Hoa has summited the 7 summits, which includes Mt. Everest.

LILIK UNGGUL RAHARJO currently serving as the Chairman of The Indonesia Cement Association and the
President of Indonesia’s Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD). He was the President Director of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk – formerly Holcim Indonesia (a member of SIG), from February 2022 to May 2024. He has demonstrated notable success in enhancing profitability annually. He also served as the Manufacturing Director for a building materials company within a state-owned enterprise group for three years (2019 to 2022), achieving significant improvements in Net OEE across three plants.

Mr. Lilik Unggul Raharjo held roles as a board member of the publicly listed MNC (Holcim Indonesia), as Manufacturing Director for six years, and as the CEO Office Director & Senior Advisor to the CEO for 2.5 years. He has successfully enhanced the Cement Manufacturing Performance Index (Global Holcim KPI) across all facilities from 2009 to 2014.He possesses extensive experience in cement manufacturing management, business strategy, business development, and sustainable development.

Mr. Raharjo has a Master of Business Administration, SBM ITB, 2019, and a Master of Business Administration, Aalto Executive Education, Finland, 2019. and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Gadjah Mada University in 1990.

Sinem is an environmental and civil engineer with over 15 years of global experience in decarbonization within the manufacturing sector. She currently serves as the cement sector anchor for Asia at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she is part of the MAS Asia Pre-Investment and Advisory team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In this role, she focuses on advancing decarbonization strategies, market growth, and supporting the transition to Net Zero practices across the region’s cement industry.

Since joining the World Bank Group in 2015, Sinem has played key roles in leading multi-year, multi-country programs that promote sustainable industrialization. She has contributed to the development of global knowledge products and strategy papers on cement sector decarbonization, while also working in finance and advisory initiatives to help cement players adopt energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions.

Before joining IFC, Sinem gained valuable experience in the private sector, working across engineering and finance roles on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and decarbonization projects.

Antonio, a chartered chemical engineer by training, for the last 27+ years has worked within the Energy Industry, mostly as consultant/advisor, covering different positions spanning from process engineer to Leadership position of Energy Consulting Companies such as McKinsey, KBR, Enerdata and KBC. In IFC, Antonio leads the Industrial Decarbonization Program in the East Asia Pacific region with special focus in supporting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors (Steel, Cement, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Glass and Aluminum) and scaling up circular economy solutions (i.e. plastic recycling). 

Antonio in the last 36 months led several decarbonization strategy and implementation projects covering hard-to-abate sectors with CCUS being one of the levers assessed. In the specific case, Antonio has led CCUS projects linked to the industry applications in Viet Nam, Indonesia and other South East Asian countries.

Antonio has been living in Asia since 2002.

Since 2013, Mohammad Jakirul Islam has been Crown Cement PLC's General Manager. Mr. Islam is in charge of river logistics, cement raw material procurement and planning.

In 2002, he began working for a Korean company. He then pursued further education at the European School of Economics in London, UK, where he earned an MBA in human resource management in 2006. He returned to the UK in 2006. He spent five years working for a Danish company after returning to the country in 2007. Mr. Islam is commemorating his remarkable 21-year career.

The University of Dhaka awarded Mr. Islam a Bachelor of Social Science degree in 1999, and the Department of Public Administration awarded him a Master of Social Science degree in 2001.

Mrs. Putu Nadi Astuti is an experienced and results-driven government executive with over two decades of service in Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry, who is currently serving as Director of Cement, Ceramics, and Non-Metallic Mineral Processing Industry. She holds a Master’s in Science from the Universitas Indonesia and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung.

She demonstrated expertise in industrial policy, chemical industry development, and international cooperation, with representation in global forums including APEC, OPCW, and INC on Plastic Pollution. Known for strategic leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and a strong commitment to industrial innovation and national development.

Nic Bastian has over 13 years of experience in the cement and concrete industry, with a focus on strategy, decarbonisation, and innovation. He is currently leading the development of Delithiated Beta Spodumene (DBS) sourced from TLEA’s Kwinana refinery, exploring its potential as a novel SCM. As the industry undergoes rapid transformation in response to decarbonisation pressures, Nic is committed to positioning BGC at the forefront—delivering consistent, high-quality, low-carbon alternatives to market.
