A trained IT analyst and holder of an MBA from the École des Ponts Business School in Paris, Rachid Yousry has over thirty years of experience in sales, supply chain, and as a business leader.


Rachid held key positions in various markets before joining the LafargeHolcim Group in July 2011 as Cement Supply Chain Director in Iraq. He then took over the reins of the Sales and Logistics Department, still in Iraq, before continuing his career in the Middle East region as Logistics Director. From 2018 to 2021, he served as Sales and Supply Chain Director at LafargeHolcim Jordan.
Since June 2021, he has been Managing Director of LafargeHolcim Côte d'Ivoire.


Rachid has also been President of the Association of Cement Producers of Côte d'Ivoire (APCCI) since December 2023. This is the only professional group of cement manufacturers in Côte d'Ivoire to date.

Dr. Joseph Mwiti Marangu is the Founder and Director of the Institute of Cement and Concrete, focusing on advancing research, training, and community outreach in cement technology. He is also the Head of Limestone Calcined Clay Technology Resource Centre for Africa (LC3TRC Africa) supporting the adoption of LC3 technology in Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Kenyatta University and has conducted postdoctoral research at EPFL in Switzerland and at Cardiff University in the UK. His research emphasizes sustainable cement materials, and he has presented at international forums like the UN Climate Change conference. He plays a profound role in linking academia and industry in cement and concrete.

He has nearly 3 decades of global development experience focused on supporting private sector growth and job creation. Since joining IFC in 1998, Kyle has worked in various sectors, including energy efficiency in Eastern Europe, SME financing in Africa, and post-conflict finance in the Middle East. As of February 2022, he has led the Ghana cluster of countries which include Liberia and Sierra Leonne, focusing on supporting the development of the agribusiness, manufacturing, and MSME sectors. Kyle holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College and a master's degree in international finance from the University of California.

Emmanuel Degboe Obeng is the Technical Manager, Civil Engineering Laboratory of Ghana Standards Authority since 2024. He has accumulated over 10 years of quality inspections for both products (including construction materials) and processes (factories). He leads the conformity assessment program for Ghana Standards Authority that includes testing and inspections of construction materials and ensuring that relevant standard specifications and test methods are developed and adopted for national use. 
 

He holds membership for the underlisted committees; Value for Money Subcommittee on Roads (supervised by the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana); Member of Technical Committee on Wood and Wood Products (TC 29); Member of Technical Committee on Building and Construction (TC 11); Member of Technical Committee reviewing the Ghana Building Code; Member of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI) Technical Committee for establishing Cement Manufacturing Capacities for Cement Industry Regulation; and Member of the National Project Committee for the development of National Bitumen Standards.
   

Currently, a member of ISO Project Committee and Working Group Expert on Non-sewered Sanitary Systems (ISO PC 305) for the review of ISO 30500 standard, Member secretary of African Regional Standard Organization (ARSO) TC 24 for Wood and Timber Products and Member of Ministry of Trade (MOTI) Technical Committee and Working Group for the Ceramics Industry for the establishment of Ceramics Industry Regulation.
   

He has a MSc Engineering Geology from University of Ghana in 2023 and a BSc Civil Engineering from KAAF University College (Affiliate to KNUST) in 2014.
