Currently, Arvind serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel. Prior to this role, he was the Executive Director-ESG and Chief Risk Officer at Dalmia Bharat Group. Before that he served as an Executive President UltraTech Cement and Global Chief Sustainability Officer for Tata Motors. In addition to his focus on risk and sustainability, Arvind has experience in operations, business excellence, marketing, and human resources. 
 

He holds a doctorate in climate science and marketing and is a certified independent director from the Institute of Directors. He also teaches corporate governance, CSR, ESG, and risk management as part of the independent directors' course. Dr Thomas Koller is the Hydrogen, Ammonia and Sustainable Fuels & CCUS Regional Lead, APAC for DNV, advising on the energy transition as well as the opportunities and challenges of sustainable fuels and related technologies. He has a background in policy development, regulation, and law with experience from the UK, Europe and Australia. 
 

Thomas is passionate about accelerated action to combat climate change having worked in both the public and private sector to bring about transformative change. 
 

Prior to joining DNV, Thomas designed and directed the ‘Gas Goes Green’ strategic decarbonisation project for the regulated gas networks in the UK. He previously worked in the biomethane sector advising on green gas generation incentives, accreditation, certification, and policy. 
 

He has a Masters in international law and a PhD in international environmental law and ethics. Thomas is based in Perth, Australia and works across Asia-Pacific.

Antonio’s expertise centers on supporting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors—including steel, cement, chemicals, fertilizers, glass, and aluminum—and scaling up circular economy solutions. Arshad Nuval Othman is the Head of Sustainable Finance at CIMB Islamic, responsible for implementing sustainability practices and driving sustainable finance initiatives with focus on carbon finance, nature finance and client advisory. In support of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), Arshad advised on the: industry-wide increase of the single counterparty exposure limit (SCEL) for energy transition financing; and CIMB-led energy performance contract (EPC) financing initiative for energy efficiency. Prior to this role, Arshad worked across three banks as a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager, gaining experience in portfolios with large local corporates, multinational corporations, government-linked companies, and financial institutions.


As the Co-Chair of the Policy Subcommittee (ASEAN) for the Malaysia Carbon Market Association, Arshad participates in shaping the ASEAN carbon market ecosystem, engaging with stakeholders to promote market integrity and accessibility.

Michael is currently the Director Energy Regulation in Regulation and Compliance Division in the Department of Energy and Mining of South Australia. He holds a degree in Chemical. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry covering many aspects of the industry including reservoir engineering, tight gas, EOR, drilling and well operations, pipelines and facility engineering and process safety management.

 

Michael has developed the South Australian safety and environmental legislation for the oil and gas industry and the state's hydrogen safety and renewable energy legislation. 
 

Michael is the South Australian government representative on the many standards committees including chair of the Australian mirror committee for the International Standards Organisation (ISO) committee on standards for Carbon Capture and Storage where he is active on international working groups for CO2 pipelines, storage, flow assurance, monitoring and verification and shipping. 
 

He is an adjunct lecturer in Process Safety and Risk Management in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide.

Mr. Takada has been working as a government official for the Ministry of Finance (MOF) since 1995. He has had a wide range of experience in policy-making at the heart of the government including public finance, tax, trade policies and financial services. During over 20 years of his career he spent 5 years in the UK: study at Cambridge and LSE (1997-99), and secondment to HM Treasury (the UK finance ministry, 2003-06) where he worked on financial regulation, investment market policies and public spending.

In 2009, Mr. Takada became the first staff of the newly created National Policy Unit and worked in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Cabinet Secretariat as an architect of the new public finance framework and as a private advisor to the Prime Minister. After having held senior positions in the Finance Minister’s Secretariat responsible for policy coordination and public relations of the Ministry, he was seconded to the OECD, Paris, where he served as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Green Finance and Investment team, Environment Directorate, from 2015 to 2018.

After his return to Tokyo in 2018, Mr. Takada worked at several offices in the MOF and other parts of the government including the Climate Change Office at the Cabinet Secretariat (2021). From 2022, Mr. Takada served as the Director for Strategy Development at the Financial Services Agency, responsible for financial market policies including promotion of international financial centres and sustainable finance.

From June 2024, Mr. Takada has been seconded to the GX (Green Transformation) Acceleration Agency as its Director. The GX Acceleration Agency is newly launched by the Japanese Government in July 2024 to accelerate decarbonisation and green transformation in Japan and beyond.

Alongside his official jobs, in his private capacity, Mr. Takada launched the Green Finance Network Japan (GFNJ) in 2018 as its Secretary General. The GFNJ is an informal network that brings together key players on green finance in Japan from both public and private sectors and provides a platform for collaborating with international stakeholders.

Mr. Takada received a Bachelor degree in Law (University of Tokyo), a Master degree in Law (Cambridge University) and an MBA (Imperial College London).

Marie leads Global Broking Strategy across all of Willis’ Natural Resources sectors, overseeing global broking coordination, placement and business strategy development, as well as senior insurer engagement. Beyond these responsibilities, Marie drives product development, innovation and sustainability initiatives for Natural Resources. Notably, Marie has played a pivotal role in collaborating with clients to cultivate a deeper understanding of the distinctive risk exposures inherent in the Carbon Capture and Storage value chain and has been instrumental in designing tailored insurance and risk management solutions to address these challenges.

With 19 years of experience as an insurance broker in the London market, Marie has honed her expertise in Energy insurances. Prior to her current position, Marie focused on helping Upstream Energy clients navigate operational risks, mitigating those risks through diverse risk transfer strategies. She has a proven track record of developing placement solutions that optimize both cost and coverage, working with large and complex clients globally.
